Whose Bible?

by Winston
(Canada)

I do believe the first thing needed is to define whose Bible you are referencing.

I am Baptist by choice.

There may well be dozen's of "bibles" in the world. Each one could be different in content and meaning. So be careful, whose Bible you quote from.

Look at today's news report, in Iran, a woman was going to be stoned for "ADULTERY". I ask, have you read their "bibles"?

I believe you are doing a good thing, and may God bless you.

But, it should not be one sided, or, it could become a Gospel according to Kelly.

Whose Bible Indeed!
by: Kelly

Thank you for your comments Winston.

It is very important to know what Bible someone is using when they talk about what the Bible says. The majority of the Bible passages referenced on this site come from the New International Version of the Bible and the verse is displayed in a pop up box whenever you put your mouse over a reference. Other quotes are taken from the Kings James Bible.

I have included on this site my statement of faith so there can be no mistaking that I believe in Jesus Christ, Son of God, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for our sins and was raised three days later. He know sits at the right hand of God in heaven.

The article you are referring on CNN does say that stoning for adultery is not in the Quran but is a civil law. But, it does bring up an important point - that many "bibles" contradict the Word of God.

My mission is to direct people to Christ as the truth. I prepared the information on this site the same way I prepare sermons and Bible lessons. By reading, studying the Bible and praying.

I encourage you and others not to take my word for it anymore than I would expect people to listen to a sermon without examining the scriptures for themselves to see if what was said lines up with the Word of God. We are told in 1 John 4:1 to test the spirits to be sure they are from God. We do that by comparing what they say to the Scriptures. And that's why, I have provided the Scripture verses whenever I have referenced the Bible. You can easily check what the Bible says as you read the material on the site.
