Having trouble

by Julie
(massachusetts)

Hello

I've been married 26 years now, and recently filed for divorce because I am tired of being verbally and mentally abused. My children are all affected from this and have emotional problems of their own. How can I make this as painless for everyone as possible. I am very close to God, and feel great comfort in him. But, my husband chooses to ignore my wishes for any kind of temporary separation and continues his life as if nothing is going to change. So, I've bypassed the separation route and filed for divorce. Can someone give me any hope?

Same Storyline
by: Anonymous

I feel sympathetic to your story. I too had to separate from my wife due to verbal and mental abuse. It was a heartbreaking decision. My mental and physical health was in dire jeopardy. My 2 kids were victimized by her as well. It is unbelievable pain when a loved one inflicts such damage with no remorse.

I just past my first year of separation and things are getting better for me and my kids. It is still no picnic though and we still feel the pain, hurt, and fear.
